Iveco Daily Himatic Review
Welcome to T.H Tree Services, we offer our Iveco Daily Himatic review from the owners point of view
Ill start off by explaining our requirements, we were looking for a 3.5 ton truck that can tow 3.5t giving a train weight of 7t. Also we wanted to avoid requiring an operators license, which restricts who can use the truck. So the 3.5t was chosen as the best of the bunch. The daily comes with 1500kg payload without body, We opted for a britt tipp body as they are the best built in our opinion. Tho we did remove weight and add a custom built arb chip box for our business. Keep reading for more on the Iveco Daily Himatic review.
Iveco Daily Himatic In Daily Use
We were very keen to go auto, to reduce operator fatigue foremost. The new himatic gearbox struck us as the way to go. We arranged a demo and was sold within 15 minutes of driving it. The gear box is smooth, strong and removes gear changes, clutch replacement costs, maintenance costs and downtime as well as a host of other benefits.
The gearbox is made by ZF whom also make gearboxes for premium brands like Bentley, that offers some confidence that these himatic gearboxes are built to last.
We have been using the truck for over a month now and its such a pleasure to drive, we made the right choice.
3 Litre Engine With 180hp
Coming from the older model daily with 116bhp, we wanted more power to carry out our daily tasks. It was evident that the smaller engine, tho providing more mpg, was just not an option when the choice is available. The 430Nm of torque really help when towing with a load and going across hills etc. We average 19 mpg which is not great but there is a penalty for power. The new engine is euro6 and uses 1 tank of ad blu for every 2-3000 miles. Ad blu is a exhaust fluid designed to reduce Nox and costs about £1 per litre.
Optional Extras In The Iveco Daily Himatic

- Heated Mirrors
- 100 litre fuel tank
